Privacy policy

Jarchemy is designed so each baker’s starter journal stays private to their account.

Information we store

We may store your account email and name, starter profiles, feeding observations, bake sessions, guided-program progress, schedules, photos, notification preferences, optional baker profile, referral code and credit count, subscription status, and basic technical records needed to keep the service secure and reliable. Offline feeding drafts are held on your device until they sync.

What you choose to publish

Starter journals, feeding records, and journal photos are private. If you publish a community recipe, its title, ingredients, method, recipe photo, and the display name you use may be visible through a public link. An optional public baker profile shows only the display name, bio, and published recipes you choose. You can make a recipe or profile private again from Jarchemy.

How information is used

We use this information to provide your private journal, calculate starter insights, deliver requested reminders, maintain backups, process subscriptions, prevent abuse, and improve Jarchemy. We do not sell your personal information or use private starter photos for advertising.

Privacy-safe product analytics

Jarchemy records a limited allow-list of product actions—such as opening the app, saving a feeding, advancing a bake stage, or enabling reminders—to understand which features are useful. One-time milestones record whether and when key setup, feeding, installation, photo, recipe, bake, and checkout moments were reached. These records do not contain journal notes, photos, reminder messages, recipe text, or advertising identifiers. They are deleted when you delete your account.

Service providers

Jarchemy may use Cloudflare for hosting and private object storage, Google or GitHub for sign-in, Stripe for payments, and Apple, Google, or browser push services for notifications. Each provider processes only the information needed for its role and operates under its own privacy terms.

Retention and control

Your information is kept while your account is active. You can download a portable journal backup or permanently delete your account from Account settings. Limited security or transaction records may be retained when required by law.

Security

Jarchemy uses encrypted connections, private account authorization, and access-controlled storage. No online service can promise absolute security, so you should also keep a recent export of important journal data.

Children

Jarchemy is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their personal information.
